Sometimes life seems overwhelming. I’m thinking particularly in a very wide scope, the terrorism in the world and the rulers (and want-to-be rulers) of countries. The Lord sometimes appears to stand off in times of trouble.
Isn’t it our reaching out to Him that is lacking? We stand back and say “where are you?” instead of acknowledging that His plan is underway. It is our grasp that is inadequate, not His reach.
Why don’t we more often remember that when we go to Him, He gives comfort even in the worst of times and circumstances? Psalm 10 reminds us that He hears, encourages, listens, and defends.
Lord, we lay it all before you. This world and its troubles are far more than any man or woman can control. We are defenseless as individuals. Your power and might, not just in countries but in the universe, are what should overwhelm us. While we pray for wisdom for those who lead our countries great and small, we also bow before you with humility, and ask that you broaden our view to include You as the master of all.
